# Fishing

Fishing is a skill that released on 21 April 2026 alongside the 0.11.1 update and is Dragonwilds' eleventh skill. While originally meant to be coupled with the release of Dowdun Reach, Jagex had confirmed to hold back on releasing the skill to fine-tune it more with the increased skill cap of 99. To train this skill, players use fishing tools (such as nets or fishing rods and bait) to catch fish in rivers and lakes. Fish can be used for cooking, crafting, or to just "show off with base trophies". Magic can also be used to interact with the Fishing skill in some way. To begin training this skill, players must first make their first coarse net and start the Shrimp Catcher quest.
