The recipe is learned by consuming the an educational blade, found in a chest atop the eastern roof of the church in Temple Woods. It can be ascended at the mystic forge using ascension cores. Unlike many other ascendable vestige and masterwork weapons and armour, this weapon does not have a special effect. This means that when compared to other swords like the black sword or toktz-xil-ak, they will often be the better choices to ascend.
