The black shield is a power level 6 shield that is crafted with a blacksmith's bench. The recipe is unlocked after studying the battle-scarred black metal vestige, which can be purchased from Postie Pete's Evil Emporium for 300 infernal fragments. Unlike the black weapons, the shield cannot be found in chests in Dowdun Reach. It can be ascended at the mystic forge using ascension cores. This shield does not have a special effect, despite being an ascendable vestige. Given how long it takes to acquire black metal bars, this shield should only be crafted and/or ascended for the sake of fashion.
