# Black Greataxe

The black greataxe is a power level 6 two-handed melee weapon that can be crafted at a blacksmith's bench. The recipe is unlocked after studying the bloodstained hilt, which can be purchased from Postie Pete's Evil Emporium for 300 infernal fragments, or acquired from chest (dowdun reach). It can be ascended at the mystic forge using ascension cores. Its special effect is 4-7% increased damage compared to other greataxes at similar power levels, but it has the same 15% increased stamina cost as thane's authority. This makes it flatly better than thane's authority, but unless it hits certain enemy breakpoints (i.e. killing an enemy in two hits instead of three), it may not be better than a mithril greataxe or adamant greataxe.
